Frequently Asked Questions

Leadership development is structured coaching and training that helps owners, managers, and emerging leaders in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, construction, home building, or any other contracting businesses build the communication, mindset, and people-management skills they need to lead well. Velocity Leader offers programs built specifically for commercial and residential contractors, distributors, manufacturers and supply houses in the home service industry, rather than adapted from generic corporate frameworks.
A Velocity Leader leadership development program for home service businesses includes instructor-led sessions covering communication skills, Everything DiSC behavioral assessment, self-awareness, accountability, conflict resolution, change management, and high-performance team building. Every session combines direct teaching with small-group discussion, partner work, and a real-world application challenge that participants take back to their businesses between sessions.
Most trades companies promote their best technicians and field workers into management roles without giving them the tools or training to actually lead people. The result is managers who are stuck in the weeds, teams with communication breakdowns, high turnover among top performers, and a culture where people follow their leader because they have to rather than because they want to. Leadership development gives managers in the trades the practical skills and self-awareness to close that gap and lead with real intention.
Velocity Leader works with whole leadership teams, not just the top executive, because sustainable growth requires everyone to develop together and speak the same leadership language. Elise Radawitz, a certified Everything DiSC practitioner with nearly a decade of experience in the home service industry, leads every session herself. Programs are built for real interaction and lasting behavior change, not passive information transfer, and every curriculum is designed specifically for the trades rather than pulled from a generic playbook.

It depends on the program and what the team needs. The Maximize Your Impact Series runs seven sessions of three hours each. The Growth Exchange Series is a ten-month virtual cohort experience for owners and managers new to leadership development. Both programs are built around sustainable behavior change over time rather than a one-day workshop that fades within the week.

Most Velocity Leader clients are established home service companies with employees and leaders who are taking on greater responsibility as the business grows.
